Older Worker Wage Subsidy
“Alternative Adjustment Assistance” (ATAA) or
“Reemployment Trade Adjustment Assistance” (RTAA)
For TAA-eligible workers 50 years of age or older at the time of layoff, ATAA and RTAA can subsidize 50% of the difference in wages earned at the time of separation from the TAA-certified firm and wages earned in re-employment. The maximum amount of benefits varies between $10,000 and $12,000 over a two year period.
ATAA and RTAA are virtually the same program but differ slightly based on the TAA laws that were enacted at the time of petitioning for benefits.
